This is really fun but.....
I feel so inadequate. I still need help from my children with Facebook and now this! Annie, you are a gem for creating this and I hope to get some lessons from you or Peg on how to post interesting information like everyone else has. I'm not worthy......
Well I just finished Revenge of the Spellmans, the third in the series by Lisa Lutz (and I am crossing my fingers that a fourth is in the works). I LOVED it . I owe Andrea a huge thank you for picking the first one for us to read. So if any of you are in the market for a good, I will even say great summer read, this is it. Lutz is even in talks with Paramount pictures to make The Spellman Files a movie. That is definitely one this bookclubber will be first in line to see.

The G Free Diet Book
No, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is not a member of our book club. But she has written a book. I wonder what celebrity of 14 hours has NOT written a book? She seems to me to be a pseudo-celebrity, having parleighed her being a cast member of the SURVIVOR TV Show into a gig on The View. Sounds like she is the epitome of "being in the right place at the right time"...
So, one day she was thinking, "I'm a celebrity...I wonder what kind of book I should write?" and she came up with a book talking about her Celiac Disease! But when I read the title about being G-Free, other images came to mind about what the "G" stood for and GLUTEN was not in the top 10......why would any woman want to be G-FREE?
I would think that there are so many other subjects she could have chosen:
"How to Get Along With Your View-Mates Using a Rosie Outlook"
"Living With a Second String Quarterback is My First String Love"
"How I "Survived" Being a Republican During The Election Campaign on The View"
"How to Avoid the Compulsion to Kill Your Co-Host"
Back to her real book - bottom line...I don't want this on the book list for anytime sooner or later.
But I know I am just one vote.

Let's Balance Out This Blog!!
Girls in the Penalty Box
Someone in our illustrious group was attempting to motivate all members to arrive on time to our Book Club Plus meeting (so an equal amount of adult beverages could be consumed)...and then MAYBE we could actually talk about the book of the month.
So, the unwritten rule is - the last person to arrive must sing a song...and sometimes we have two attempting to push through the doorway simultaneously...thus here are two talented members singing and acting out "The 12 Days of Christmas" ~ and they received a standing ovation...maybe because we were already standing.
